Industry veteran David Blackburn has been appointed managing director of Momentum Infrastructure, a joint venture comprising Dragados, Galliford Try and Hochtief.
Momentum Infrastructure was created last year to bid for the HS2 rail project, which will run between London, the Midlands, Manchester and Yorkshire.
He recently joined Galliford Try as major projects managing director from Leighton Contractors in Australia, where he was project director on the $3bn Sydney Metro NW OTS project.
Previously he spent over 30 years with Skanska, which included leading the £1bn M25 DBFO widening works and a number of the major contracts on HS1.
Sally Cox, Main Board Director of Momentum Infrastructure, said: “David comes with a great pedigree and he will be an excellent addition to an already strong team.
“He is highly respected within the professional community and brings great knowledge and experience of our industry, the needs of our clients and in the delivery of strong results.”
