Partnership and Innovation Leader, Engineering Excellence Group
Adam Locke is Partnership and Innovation Leader within the Engineering Excellence at Laing O’Rourke. Adam works with clients and industry and academic partners to promote innovation in business opportunities and develops enhanced capabilities through internal and collaborative research, development and education. Adam is the leader of a 22-partner consortium for the advanced Manufacturing of Homes Buildings and Infrastructure project government grant co-funded through the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI). His portfolio includes research with more than six partner universities including 22 PhDs, and Innovate UK collaborations focussed on design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) and digital engineering.
He currently chairs the “Demand and Volume Surety” working group for the Construction Leadership Council Innovation (Buildings) steering group. Prior to joining Laing O’Rourke in 2007, Adam was a Divisional Director at Mouchel Management Consultancy, specialised in providing integrated multi-disciplinary advice including strategic planning, business case, PFI/PPP procurement, funders and regulatory due diligence covering a range of Building and Infrastructure sectors. Previously, Adam was a Manager in Andersen Business Consulting’s Strategy Organisation and People group. Adam’s early engineering career was working with Atkins, Halcrow and Balfour Maunsell (now AECOM). Adam has an MBA from INSEAD and is a Chartered Civil Engineer, with degrees in Engineering Science from the University of Cambridge and Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London.
