Principal Information, Technology and Process
I am a Principal at BDP with responsibilities for Information, Technology and Process. BDP, part of the Nippon Koei group, is one of the largest interdisciplinary design practices globally. Since taking up the role of Director if Information and Technology in 2010 I have striven to bring greater efficiencies to BDP through IT.
I am a registered Architect and was previously an Architect Director in BDP’s Glasgow office responsible for the design and delivery of a number of significant retail developments throughout the UK including being Project Director for the BCSC Gold Award winning Silverburn project on the outskirts of Glasgow and Contract Administrator for Parkway, Newbury, also a BCSC Gold Award winner.
Since taking over the role of Director of Information and Technology I have also acted as BDP BIM Champion leading the strategy for BDP to be recognised as leading BIM exponents in the UK. Recent work has addressed the business requirements of the Government Level 2 BIM mandate, leading the ultimately successful application for BRE Level 2 Business Certification the first business globally to achieve this.
I was also a member of the RIBA Plan of Work 2013 Review Group, providing comment as the ‘2013 Plan of Work’ was developed. I led BDP’s involvement in the BIM Toolkit, authoring the LoD standard and managing BDP’s development of some 400 object definitions across 4 disciplines.
I also have Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art, specialising in Fine Art Photography (Distinction).
