Peter Shipley is a chartered civil engineer with more than 30 years of experience. Graduating from Liverpool University in 1981 he began life as a bridge designer working in South Africa. On returning to the UK he joined a structural engineering practice in London as an Associate working on various large building developments in London during the 1980’s building boom. Peter then moved into telecommunications using his engineering and project management skills to manage the roll out of both wireless and cable telecommunications networks in the UK, Germany, Poland, France and Spain. He returned to his engineering roots becoming CH2MHILL’s Managing Director of Western Europe and developed the business across a broad range of sectors. Peter became CH2MHILL’s Deputy Programme Director within the CLM Joint Venture responsible for the delivery of the 2012 London Olympics infrastructure where he worked for 5 years. He is now the Programme Director for the Thames Tideway Tunnel in London and a Senior Vice President within CH2MHILL.
