Danielle Haskings
- | Women in Construction Ambassador
My name is Danielle and I am currently Head of Sustainability and Social Value for a building services firm based in Bristol and London. Growing up, I was always interested in construction as my dad worked as a Site Manager but, as it was back then, I was advised not to venture into the industry as a female. Having no idea what I wanted to do instead, I went to university to study Business which I felt would cover me in any role. I chose to specialise in Operations and Project Management on the off chance I would end up in construction in the future. After working a few jobs that never really satisfied, I ended up in a part time document controller role on a construction site and the rest, as they say, is history. I was given the opportunity to progress into social value in 2020 during the covid pandemic and was promoted from an assistant manager to a senior manager in just 16 months. My role now sees me head up the sustainabulity and social value engagement for our projects across the South West of England (predominantly the Bristol area), something that I take real pride in. To date, I have done numerous events from providing support to young offenders to supporting students with SEN into employment. My biggest passion lies with supporting women into the construction industry and I am working hard to support and change perceptions of the industry for females young and old.
