Jaya Garella

I established Studio Garella, a bespoke architectural and interior design atelier with a special interest and expertise in historic and period buildings. I believe that working in true collaboration with our wonderful clients, consultants, builders, fantastic 'makers' and artisans is beneficial for every design project and strengthens the culture of our industry.

Fortunate and proud to have been brought up by parents who were professionals in the same field, when I first entered the profession, frequently being the only woman around the table in meetings or building sites was not daunting. At the age of 50, I ventured into independent practice, supported by incredible goodwill and continued collaboration with my professional colleagues.

I have been pleased to support and mentor others with my own positive, personal experience, and support WIC in its efforts towards promoting equality in our diverse paths within the design and construction industry.
