10.30am Presentation: Elevating the Open BIM Process for Structural Engineers to the Next Level
- Discover how the structural engineer becomes one with the BIM workflow - A new approach for collaboration between modeler and structural engineer within a federated model
- Transfer any geometrical model into an analysis model with a time saving of 30-50% compared to a traditional workflow
- Use newly defined standard for exchange of analysis models called SAF
- Transfer from CAD model to analysis model steered by structural engineer, giving him control over the creation of the analysis model, while the modeller can focus on the geometrical model
- No more loss of data: changes in geometrical models are managed, and related analysis models are updated, all while keeping additional input
- Bi-directional changes: adjustment in the geometrical model will be automatically updated in the analysis model. Changes in the analysis model will create tasks to be executed in the CAD system
Speaker: Herman Oogink, Head of Strategic Alliances, SCIA
10.50am Panel Discussion: BIM Workflow Efficiency
- Is the Structural Engineer ready for the BIM model?
- openBIM / SAF format
- Which collaboration platform can handle the analysis model
