Esh Construction has broken ground on 65 new affordable homes just three miles from Hull city centre.

The North of England contractor brought the development forward in a land-led deal worth £13.1 million working in partnership with Together Housing.

The project on land opposite the Freedom Centre, between Ryehill Grove and Wyton Grove, will see 31 two-bedroom, 28 three-bedroom and six four-bedroom homes built, with accompanying private rear gardens and parking facilities.

Accessibility and adaptability standards will be adopted for 16 homes, with features such as a step-free access, increased circulation space and potential for future adaptations including level access showers at ground floor in the three-bedroom homes.

Simon Woodward, Operations Director at Esh Construction, said: “This latest project builds on the success of two previous developments delivered by Esh in partnership with Together Housing, which have provided over 160 affordable homes in Halifax and Doncaster in the past two years.”

“By utilising our land-led solution to bring the latest project forward, a huge collaborative effort has taken us through the planning phase, and we’re excited to see it take shape in the coming months.”
