JRL lands 608-home London Thames City phase 2
JRL Group has secured the design and build contract for the next phase of the Thames City residential scheme at Nine Elms in London.
Phase 2 will deliver 608 flats across five mansion-block buildings ranging from 12 to 22 storeys and is rumoured to be worth more than £300m.
The job continues JRL’s role on the landmark Vauxhall regeneration scheme, where it previously delivered the N8 and N9 towers.
Those earlier towers, standing at 53 and 37 storeys, were handed over in 2022 and 2023 and are now largely sold and occupied.
JRL said around 80% of the Phase 2 construction value will be delivered through its own specialist divisions, covering reinforced concrete frame, facades, MEP, bathroom pods and dry-lining.
The group said the self-delivery model would give client Excel Winner a single point of accountability while improving programme management, quality control and supply chain coordination.
The award swells JRL’s order book to around £2bn.
A JRL Group spokesperson said: “Thames City has been an important project for JRL and we’re pleased to be continuing our involvement with Phase 2.
“Excel Winner has clear expectations and a strong commitment to quality, which makes for a great working relationship.
“We know the development well, and between our main contracting capability and our in-house specialist divisions, we’re well placed to deliver this first in class development.”
