Midgard to start work on £243m London towers

Midgard has been confirmed as the contractor on two new high-rises in Tottenham Hale, north London.

The developer, Related Argent, has been granted a £243m loan from ICG Real Estate to develop 1 and 2 Ferry Island, paving the way for construction work to start.

Midgard managing director Kevin Keegan said: “We are delighted that Related Argent has entrusted us with constructing the final phase of the Heart of Hale scheme. These are buildings of exceptional architectural quality and we look forward to delivering this new London landmark.”

One Ferry Island will comprise a 12-storey tower containing 108 homes, while 2 Ferry Island will contain 376 homes across two towers rising to 38 storeys.

The new buildings form the second phase of the £600m Heart of Hale regeneration scheme, a partnership between Related Argent and the London Borough of Haringey, to build 1,032 new homes across seven buildings.

Residents of the two new buildings will have access to a private members club occupying the entire first floor of 2 Ferry Island. The 1,100 square metre social space will be fitted out with a lounge, co-working space, games room and fitness studios. Residents will also have access to three roof terraces.

Three buildings comprising 417 homes, at 1 and 2 Ashley Road and 3 Ferry Island, have already been completed and tenants have begun to move in.

Related Argent managing director Tom Goodall said: “The capitalisation and start of major construction at 1 and 2 Ferry Island are important milestones to complete the Heart of Hale development, creating a new community and a destination for Tottenham Hale.”

Work is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Related Argent is also the developer behind the King’s Cross regeneration.
