Exclusive interview with British Gypsum

Exclusive interview with British Gypsum

We asked British Gypsum why they entered this award category, and why they think they should win!

Why did you select this award category?

British Gypsum has entered its GypWall QUIET system, which incorporates Gyproc Habito ' plasterboard, in the Product Innovation of the Year category, as it believes the system is a truly novel solution for the market.'

What makes this product innovative?

New for 2018, the Secured by Design (SBD) accredited GypWall QUIET system, is a non-load bearing, twin-framed acoustic separating wall. This Police-preferred specification has brought something new to the industry, with a fully tested system that is not only the first to fulfil the SBD attack requirement, but also meets fire and acoustic regulations for residential separating walls.'

In addition British Gypsum's solution is as easy to install as any other lightweight partition, avoiding the need for difficult to cut ply, metal lath or fabric mesh based solutions.

GypWall QUIET incorporating Gyproc Habito is able to withstand a sustained attack, making it extremely solid; and has passed the onerous STS 202 BR1 test meeting the requirements of Secured by Design Homes 2016. It has been designed for use within high-rise affordable housing developments, where high levels of acoustic and fire performance are also required.

Why do you deserve to win?
As the UK's leading manufacturer of plasterboard and plaster-based drylining systems and products, British Gypsum is constantly evolving to meet customer demands. Winning the award would be a great endorsement for this product and it would take pride of place in British Gypsum's already extensive trophy cabinet. '
