My name is Akua Attobrah ACIBSE MWES. I’m very keen to be a Women in Construction ambassador as I believe that it is important for us all to get behind the mechanical wheel of driving diversity, equality and inclusion in construction. I am a Building Services Engineering Consultant and Director with considerable experience working within innovative design organizations. An Associate member and Graduate of Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers with the ability to demonstrate both knowledge of competences and experience to a professional standard in the field of building services engineering. I work in close co-ordination with engineering disciplines, adhering to BIM Execution Plans and BIM project workflow criteria, following BIM content standards and development procedures. I possess over twenty years design experience and have received extensive training over the years transitioning from Architecture to Building Services Design.

Why is it important to support diversity and inclusion?

"We’re all better people when someone gives us a chance to be’. We are all able and when we can say to one another ‘give me your hand and I’ll show you the way’ that to me is a fighting chance! I have always liked ‘Adolf Huxley’s quote ‘There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.’ But nevertheless I believe everyone needs to be driven, moved forward from one point of their destination to the other. And altogether WE MOVE".
