Alastair believes that architecture should make the world a better place, both socially and environmentally. Applying this to his work, he designs with social and climatic issues in mind to ensure a building’s function and appearance can adapt with time.

With a specialism in designing deliverable mass timber buildings Alastair has an aptitude for creating elegant solutions to complex spatial and structural issues. Over his 13 years with the company he has successfully delivered complex and innovative commercial and mixed-use residential schemes both in the UK and internationally.

He leads Waugh Thistleton’s research into engineered timber and DfMA, ensuring that the practice’s designs continually push boundaries.
