Alexandra Nokes
Always a keen problem solver, I read general engineering for my first two years at university, and then specialised in mechanical engineering. I joined Mace on the graduate programme, and since then, I have had great opportunities both from a project and personal growth perspective. I have led teams through all phases of the project lifecycle in the private sector, from a cut-and-carve new concept retail store to a 4-story new build mixed use laboratory/office/community space for a healthcare client, whilst also obtaining CIOB chartership. Outside of project work, I was selected to lead a newly formed ‘gen-z’ workstream spanning across the business, meeting with members of the Mace board monthly to drive new ideas, challenge those existing and provide insight from a different perspective.
Statement:
Utilise your natural inquisitiveness to try and solve complex problems; and challenge those around you, with respect and humility, as this will often help to find optimal solutions.
