Andy Black is the Chief Information Security Officer at Sir Robert McAlpine, where he leads the charge on cyber security across the business and its supply chain. With a background in financial services and a strong track record in compliance and information risk, Andy has helped shape SRM’s approach to digital resilience—making cyber security a core part of how the company operates.

At London Build 2025, Andy will be sharing his experience of working closely with the Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC) and the National Cyber Security Centre to raise awareness of cyber threats across the construction industry. Together with Rachel Lloyd-Moseley, SRM’s Head of Procurement – Nuclear, he’s developed practical initiatives that support SMEs and supply chain partners—delivering workshops, toolkits and campaigns that make cyber security more accessible and relevant to everyday business.

Under Andy’s leadership, Sir Robert McAlpine became the first construction firm to be named a National Ambassador for the CRC, joining the ranks of organisations like Microsoft, NatWest and KPMG. His work is helping to shift the conversation around cyber risk—moving it from a technical concern to a shared responsibility across the sector.

Andy’s approach is collaborative, down-to-earth and rooted in real-world experience. He’s passionate about helping businesses of all sizes build resilience, protect their people, and stay one step ahead in the ever-changing cyber landscape.
