I’ve worked throughout construction disciplines, supply chain and sectors over 30 years and have seen leaps forward in our working places and attitudes to women. There’s still so much of what we do that alienates our colleagues and causes people to leave the industry. Inclusivity is the route to addressing this. Inclusivity also addresses many of our challenges in business, there’s no good reason to resist the changes in approach to evolve our organisations and embrace the full diversity of our workforce. Women of course are 52% of the population, and come from a full array of backgrounds including the other protected characteristics.
