Carlo Battisti
Carlo Battisti is President and co-founder of Living Future Europe, the European affiliate of the international Living Future Institute, advancing the transition towards a regenerative built environment. A civil engineer with over 35 years of experience in construction, innovation and sustainability, he works across research, education and industry to translate Living Future principles into the European context, supporting buildings and communities that are socially just, ecologically regenerative and healthy.
His work explores how regenerative thinking can inform housing and neighbourhood transformation. He has played key roles in European research and innovation initiatives, including the Horizon Europe New European Bauhaus Lighthouse project Eyes Hearts Hands Urban Revolution (EHHUR), focused on more resilient and inclusive communities.
Carlo is also co-editor of The Missing Delivery Framework: A Regenerative-Inspired Approach to the European Affordable Housing Plan, which explores how Europe can move beyond quantity-driven housing delivery towards an approach integrating affordability with wellbeing, climate resilience, social cohesion and ecological performance.
