Carolyn Smith has extensive experience in Health & Safety, as Senior business leader and manager for UK and European operations. 15 years spent with FTSE listed Speedy Hire plc, then joining security and property management company, The VPS Group, transforming their approach to safety, embedding a health, safety and wellbeing culture across the group and helping to gain its first RoSPA Gold Award. In January 2022, she became their first female Health, Safety and Wellbeing Director. Carolyn gained recognition for her Health and Safety work this year when she won Health and Safe'ty Man'ag'er of the Year at the Safe'ty and Health Excel'lence Awards, held at the NEC Vox Con'fer'ence Cen'tre, Birmingham. Hailing from Merseyside, as a junior for the Liverpool Harriers she represented Great Britain in many international athletics meets across the world.
