Why is it important to support diversity and inclusion?

"I have always been passionate about equity, and about ensuring a level playing field so that people are able to contribute their skills, knowledge and talents for the greater good of our society. My time at the RIBA as Head of Professional Standards gave me much greater insight into some of the barriers to equity and inclusion, particularly within the construction industry; those barriers are not only inhibiting fair access to professions in the built environment, but are also perpetuating biases in society which impact on us all. It is time to change that".
