Chris Miles
Chris has dedicated his career to the construction and fire safety industries, with a particular focus on testing, technical assessments, inspections, and product certification. This extensive experience has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements for passive fire protection areas. Chris is highly skilled in testing and assessing a diverse range of passive fire protection products, including fire-resistant doorsets and firestopping systems.
Over his career, Chris has been a member of numerous standards committees including: -
- CEN TC127 plenary
- CEN TC127 WG3 (fire and smoke control doors) – as Chairman
- BSi FSH 22/7 (fire and smoke control doors) – as Chairman
- BSi FSH 22/5 (partitions)
He has also been heavily involved and active in various trade associations, such as: -
- ASFP, including 2 years as Chairman
- British Coatings Federation
- Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI)
- British Woodworking Federation (BWF)
Chris has extensive knowledge of fire testing and third-party product certification having spent over 40 years at two of the leading global fire safety organisations.
