I have over 20 years experience in development and construction recruitment, having worked at senior levels within one of the UK's largest FTSE companies. That experience has led me to leading the development and construction arm of Madison Berkeley. As a company, within the first 18 months of trading we managed 50% female placements. Our industry has less than 15% female representation, therefore this was a huge win which we continue to build on. I am proud to uphold the Madison Berkeley core values. which are openness, honesty, adaptability, trust and diversity. Co founders Clare Coe and Nina Zeilerbauer set the company up with the aim of changing the face of real estate in 2017. In 2022 we partnered with Black Women in Real Estate to launch the digital #IAMWOMAN campaign. Through this campaign we worked together to raise awareness of the need for more diversity in the real estate industry as a whole. The campaign involved companies such as Cushman Wakefield, The Crown Estate and Landsec. It succeeded in starting conversations surrounding the need for diverse female recruitment and retention at the highest levels within the built environment. I continue to work with my clients on understanding why recruiting with diversity at the fore is imperative for the growth of a company. We must ensure that our built environment reflects the society we live in. if it doesn't, then modern developments will not be fit for purpose and their return on investment will be negatively affected.
