Clare Fenton joined Wates a year ago, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in the facades and building performance sectors. Having previously run her own businesses, Clare has built a reputation for technical excellence and strategic leadership across the industry. Her entrepreneurial background is complemented by a deep understanding of façade systems, regulatory compliance, and performance-driven design.

Until recently, Clare served a four-year term as Chair of the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA), where she played a pivotal role in steering the organisation towards a more progressive direction whilst still maintaining their technically focused approach. She remains an active contributor to various technical working groups and is has been a committed ambassador for the Joint Competency Initiative. Clare currently leads the cladding arm of the WG10.1 Installer Competency Programme, helping to drive competency across the sector.
