Edward Carpenter is currently Group Head of Corporate Compliance and Assurance for the Riverside Group, one of UK’s largest social housing providers.

In 2020, pre-merger, Edward led One Housing’s response to the COVID pandemic whilst also ensuring one of UK largest portfolios of high-risk buildings continued to be insured despite the repercussions of the Grenfell tragedy. Previously a Royal Naval Lieutenant Commander, Edward was responsible for navigating the Royal Navy frigate HMS Campbeltown twice to the Middle East and back, and whilst land based in Bahrain, planned and delivered multi-national regional maritime security operations across the Arabian Gulf.

Edward is Building Information Management ISO 19650 practitioner qualified, has a Master of Engineering and has studied at Imperial College, Cambridge University and LSE. More than anything, he loves making people and things work smarter together and more sustainably. Throughout his career he has focussed on enabling organisations to achieve improved performance with a speciality in the built environment. Not only able to thrive under pressure, Edward brings concepts and people together. Whether it is creating new corporate functions, or delivering transformational project and change, Edward’s focus is always to build programmes that have data excellence and sustainability at their heart.
