Era Shah is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over a decade of experience working on complex high-profile infrastructure projects and programme, for Clients such as HS2, Crossrail and Thames Tideway. Era has led multidisciplinary teams, solving complex problems within operational delivery as a principal contractor and now sits part of AECOM Programme Advisory, Europe & India. She specialises in developing sustainable strategies for major programmes globally, transforming capabilities to re-align to programme purpose, intended outcomes and developing delivery models to drive success.  Over the years, Era has been recognised for her contributions to the industry, named The Guardian’s Top 50 Women in Engineering 2021, European Women in Construction and Engineering finalist 2023 and Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering finalist 2025. Era is also a co-host for the Chai & Chat Engineering podcast, where episodes raise the profile and career journeys of female engineers from ethnic minority backgrounds in our industry.
