Fernando has over 8 years’ experience working in the construction industry. With an architectural background, he specialized in Digital Construction and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for the past 6 years.

He has extensive experience working internationally, having held positions in Australia, Spain, and the United Kingdom. He began his career as an architect and later supported the completion of high-profile projects by implementing BIM and technological innovation.

As Digital Construction Coordinator, at Sir Robert McAlpine Fernando is responsible for implementing BIM in healthcare projects, ensuring adoption, new technologies and coordination, in collaboration with consultants, trades, and client engaging.

New solutions and implementation of new technologies on site, he imagines a future in construction where robots and artificial intelligence will rise the productivity up, reduce risks and improve quality, and with Digital Construction as a key enabler. This is years ahead, but first, a full industry implementation of BIM needs to take place.
