Gergana is Urban Design Director at BDP. Having studied and worked in The Netherlands, Bulgaria, Ireland and the UK, Gergana has 25 years’ experience in masterplanning, residential, mixed use and transport related development across Europe and worldwide. She leads complex master planning projects on behalf of public authorities and private landowners and developers and coordinates multidisciplinary teams in the preparation of masterplans, design codes, concept designs, development briefs and feasibility studies.
Gergana’s work is mostly focused on placemaking for new urban neighbourhoods and town centre regeneration. It reflect her passion for delivering ‘future cities’ through collaboration and by reinventing the unique qualities of diverse urban and natural environments.
The future of compact neighbourhoods and the effect of public events on urban economy are two of the subjects which Gergana is particularly interested and has undertaken research into as scholarship holder at the Urban Institute Ireland and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
