Hugh Franklin is Head of Product and Innovation at AeroBarrier UK, with a background in high-performance housing, retrofit, and scheme-wide redevelopment. A founding member of the company at its inception in 2022, he has played a central role in delivering the patented AeroBarrier system across a wide range of project types nationwide. With a strong emphasis on practical, site-based outcomes, Hugh prioritises hands-on implementation and effective stakeholder coordination over purely theoretical optimisation.

A passionate advocate for human-led construction and sustainable transformation in the built environment, Hugh has led the UK team to multiple innovation awards, recognising both the technical merit of AeroBarrier and its real-world impact across bespoke and large-scale developments.

Beyond his professional achievements, Hugh is an avid cyclist and competed at national-level triathlon. He holds a master’s degree in Archaeology, History and Linguistics, having studied at the University of St Andrews and La Sapienza in Rome. His current focus includes market education on Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), highlighting the critical role of draught reduction in achieving energy-efficient, comfortable and future-proof buildings across the UK.
