James has worked in Willmott Dixon’s sustainability team since 2022, providing technical expertise to project teams on embodied carbon reduction and low carbon design across all national operations. He also helps set and drive forward the embodied carbon reduction targets set as part of Willmott Dixon' Now or Never sustainability strategy.

Prior to joining Willmott Dixon, James has worked with a range of different construction product manufacturers developing responsible sourcing strategies and life cycle assessments, and also holds an Engineering Doctorate in sustainable construction from Loughborough University. James was a contributing author on the CIRIA publication ‘Minimising risk through responsible sourcing: A handbook for the construction industry’ and is a keen advocate for material reuse and circular economy.
