Global Director, Design United Studio Ltd

Over many years as an architect, I have acquired extensive experience in important cultural, residential, educational, commercial and infrastructure projects. At Foster+Partners I was given the opportunity to work on and lead high profile and complex projects across the UK and abroad, from the Stirling Prize winning St Mary Axe office tower for SwissRe, The ‘Gherkin', No1 London Wall, the new Heathrow Terminal 2 to Haramain High Speed Railway Stations in Saudi Arabia. Made Partner of Foster+Partners in 2011 I oversaw the award winning, highly prestigious, urban design project for the Vieux Port in Marseille from competition to completion. The project won the European Prize for Urban Design, the RIBA award 2013 and the Prix Gustave Eiffel prize for the mirror reflective canopy called l'Ombriere. For Foster+Partners I won the competition for Narbo Via, the new Archaeological Museum in Narbonne in collaboration with Adrien Gardere, Paris and lead the concept design of Tocumen Airport in Panama, then took on the design of Landmark Place for clients Candy and Candy, a 16,000 sqm high profile residential building next to the Tower of London and opposite the GLA, completed in 2018. With winning the competition for Battersea Roof Gardens @ Battersea Power Station, a Mixed-Use development providing 436 residential units, a 5-star hotel with infinity pool, the NLE underground station, retail and restaurants, gym, residents lounges, a private clinic and exciting roof garden I became very much interested in placemaking and projects with a strong sustainability agenda. In 2017 I left Foster+Partners to initially join AIR Architects as Co-Director leading and delivering educational projects in the private and public sector. In 2020 I set up Design United Studio to focus on projects with strong environmental, community and place making aspects addressing the climate crisis and at the same time delivering sustainable places for people.
