Sustainable Design Lead, Willmott Dixon Construction

Kemi Owoeye has worked in the construction industry for over 21 years. She is currently the Sustainable Design Lead for Willmott Dixon within the Construction South Region and holds a senior role within the business and the design department. She holds a bachelor's degree in architecture, a master's degree in project management and a Postgraduate Certificate in Interdisciplinary Design in the Built Environment (IDBE) from Cambridge University. For all her projects across different sectors, she focuses on understanding client requirements and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to maximise the sustainable potential of design solutions without compromising regulatory and statutory compliance. She is also keen to give back, is a CIOB mentor, and volunteers as a school governor. Statement - The negative impact of climate change is unmistakable. Still, through early engagement and collaboration, our projects can target reduced carbon emissions, minimise waste through targeted design development, target biodiversity net gain and provide meaningful social value to local communities. One sustainable project alone will not resolve the climate crisis, but inaction is no longer an option. If every project does its part to reduce the negative impacts of global warming, we will move forward together and make progress.

Statement:

Doing nothing is no longer an option.
