Lalit Chauhan FCIAT has built his career around sustainable, detail-driven, and innovation-led design. Committed to advancing the social housing sector, he has enabled disadvantaged communities to engage with the low-carbon agenda. As Design Director at ZED PODS, Lalit has led the delivery of more than 158 net-zero carbon modular homes across the UK, setting new benchmarks for affordable, climate-resilient living. His work integrates modern methods of construction (MMC), digital information management, and circular economy principles, promoting ethical and future-focused practices. A pioneer of scalable factory-based delivery models, he drives projects that prioritise whole-life carbon, social value, and the regeneration of brownfield land into energy-positive communities. Under his leadership, ZED PODS has earned 49 national and international awards, including The King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. Lalit continues to influence the profession through visionary design, collaborative leadership, and a relentless focus on sustainability.
