Senior Research Manager, IDC

I am a Senior Research Manager at IDC, leading research on smart, sustainable and resilient cities and communities. I have international experience providing analysis and policy advice to the public sector on ensuring a sustainable and disaster-resilient built environment, including through building regulatory reform. Previous roles have included Urban Resilience Consultant at the World Bank, focused on projects in the Caribbean and East Africa, and as a Researcher at technology and innovation accelerators such as the Future Cities Catapult and the University College London City Leadership Laboratory. I am also a special advisor to the International Building Quality Centre.

Statement:

One of the defining challenges of this generation will be creating more sustainable and climate-resilient societies. The built environment is at the center of this trajectory as one of the largest emitters. Systemic change is needed across building supply chains and lifecycles. It is an exciting time for the industry with new and emerging technologies helping to shape the transformation of buildings and places.

Working at the intersection of tech & the built environment means being part of 2 industries where women are underrepresented. Embedding diversity in these fields is critical to enable the design of more inclusive & sustainable cities and communities
