Louise Thomas is an architect-urban designer, Joint Editor of the Urban Design Group’s quarterly journal Urban Design, and a Teaching Fellow at the University of Westminster on the MA in Urban Design programme.

For more than 20 years, she has led her own consultancy Thomas Design Regeneration & Consultation Ltd, and is often brought into project teams as a ‘trouble-shooter’ when urban design has been the missing ingredient. Projects include major town centre regeneration schemes, significant housing growth plans, and hands-on public engagement strategies. She is passionate about improving the public’s understanding of planning and development processes, and enjoys bringing urban design to new audiences.
