Development Project Manager, Mace

Architect by background, with extensive experience in Planning, Development Management and Placemaking, in the UK as well as internationally. Also a Volunteer for Planning Aid for London and member of Women at Mace Steering Committee. I'm passionate about creating safe and inclusive spaces and driving change. I have worked in the public sector, as part of PUBLIC PRACTICE network, both client-side as well as local authority-side within in-house planning team. More recently, joined private sector to work on major regeneration schemes, advising clients on their projects' life-cycle, and managing multidisciplinary design teams throughout design development process, always advocating architecture as a means to act responsibly from an environmental, social and economic point of view, and challenging design briefs and the design process to put sustainability at the forefront.

Statement:

"The role of the built environment industry in creating safer, more inclusive spaces for women, has to be enhanced and further championed. At Woman at Mace – Creating Safe and Inclusive Spaces workstream – we have put together a checklist of best practice documents and most recent research on the topic, to serve as a reference to help our clients to understand the key challenges women and girls face in public spaces and propose recommendations and guidance for addressing these challenges. Creating safer spaces for women and vulnerable groups, will ultimately create safer spaces for everyone."
