I’ve worked in the construction sector for the past five years, supporting built environment brands with their PR and communications strategies in my role as associate director at Refresh – a creative led PR and marketing agency specialising in construction. Although I’ve worked in PR for the past 12 years, starting at Refresh back in 2018 was my first foray into the construction sector and I haven’t looked back. I work with predominantly building product manufacturers across the UK and Europe - including Etex, Siniat, Polypipe and Watco - to stand out from the crown and have their voices heard.  

Statement: 
Only by having a diverse set of voices within the built environment can we create products, services, buildings and communities that are truly representative of the entire population. Working in a construction PR agency that’s predominantly female has opened my eyes to the lack of women in leadership positions in the sector. We often pitch to predominantly male leadership teams and it’s not uncommon for us to be the only agency walking into a room with an all-female pitching team. It’s crazy to me when I consider some of the amazing women I work with through our client portfolio who are all doing amazing things in their organisations. Things are changing slowly but I would like to see it happening at a faster pace…
