Ludo Pittie heads up WSP’s 90-strong UK Landscape and Urban Design team. He leads on landscape strategy and design thinking for the business and has driven WSP’s global exploration of ‘the Future Ready Landscape’ which strives to anticipate future needs, and embeds adaptable design practices to create sustainable places that are ready for today and tomorrow.
Ludo believes in championing the role of nature in the built environment as a key future focus, and led WSP’s Biodiversity in the City initiative. His latest thought piece on nature-based placemaking explores “What if cities were more like forests?”. He led Extreme Greening research for London Boroughs. He was working closely with WSP’s Transport team on authoring the new Manual for Streets with CIHT and DfT last year. He is working closely with LB Islington on a Natural Environment Investment Readiness Funding project to explore alternative delivery model for urban greening.
