Manuela was born and studied in Italy, then gaining her Master Degree with Honors at the Design Research Laboratory of the Architectural Association (AADRL). She taught at the University of Architecture in Venice and the Architectural Association in London, is a published author and has lectured widely worldwide.

In 2002 she joined Zaha Hadid Architects where she is currently Director.

Over the last twenty years she has led a number of large scale projects in China and Europe, including infrastructure and masterplans.

Having worked in Ukraine since 2016 and committed to supporting the reconstruction of the country, Manuela is member of the advisory board of the UK-Ukraine Strategic Trade & Industry Group (“STIG”), which is part of the UK Department of Business and Trade (DBT).
