Maria is a Project Engineer with over nine years of experience delivering major infrastructure, commercial civil construction, and maintenance projects across New Zealand and Australia. Throughout her career, she has contributed to the successful delivery of several multimillion-dollar projects within the civil construction industry ranging from main thoroughfares to hospitals and data centres. 

Alongside her professional achievements, she is a passionate advocate for promoting engineering and increasing female representation within the construction sector. Since her university years, she has actively engaged in presentations, workshops, and industry events aimed at inspiring primary and secondary school students, as well as young women pursuing engineering studies. She is a strong believer in the value that women bring to the industry and is committed to fostering more inclusive and diverse pathways within engineering and construction.

Her dedication to championing women in the industry was recognised in 2025 when she was named a finalist in the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) People Awards in the Women in Civil Construction Excellence category. She has also been invited to speak on industry panels at both Sydney Build and Melbourne Build over the past three years, contributing to discussions focused on leadership, diversity, and the future of construction.
