Mattia Santi is an architect with experience across architecture, urban design, and interior design. He is the Co-Founder and Director of SASI Studio, where he leads innovative, multidisciplinary projects at the intersection of Architecture, Interior Design and Technology.
Prior to founding SASI Studio, Mattia held the position of Senior Architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, following roles at Robofold, Farshid Moussavi Architecture, Alvisi Kirimoto & Partners, and SPSK. His professional experience spans a diverse range of sectors, including mixed-use developments, urban design, museums, commercial and residential interiors, and product design, with projects located in the UK, China, South Korea, the UAE, the USA, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, Finland, Spain, and Italy.
Mattia holds a MArch in Architecture and Urbanism (Design Research Laboratory) from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, and a Master’s Degree in Building Engineering and Architecture (with honours) from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He has also completed the Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment program at the MIT School of Architecture and Planning.
In addition to his professional practice, Mattia is actively engaged in academia. He has taught at leading institutions including the Architectural Association in London, Zigurat Global Institute of Technology, North China University of Technology (Exchange Programme), Politecnico di Milano – AA Visiting School, and U-NAT in Dubai.
He has been invited to speak at numerous international conferences and industry events, such as PropTech Hungary Conference 4.0, London Build, UK Construction Week, RIBA Academy, University of Camerino, Dassault Systèmes – Beyond BIM, University of East London – PACT 4th Edition, and Teulo Talks.
Mattia contributed to the book “The Function of Style” by Farshid Moussavi and is the author of several articles and papers, such as “Digital Twins: Accelerating Digital Transformation in the Real Estate Industry” published by Spring, “The Metaverse offers real prospects in virtual worlds” by RIBA Journal, and other leading architectural publications.
