Michael Baggett

Michael Baggett is Director of Land and Partnerships at Platform Housing Group, one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands. He leads the organisation's land acquisition and strategic partnerships activities, working with local authorities, developers, landowners and investors to bring forward new affordable housing and mixed-tenure communities. With extensive experience across land, planning and residential development, Michael has been involved in the delivery of a wide range of housing-led projects, from strategic urban extensions to regeneration and partnership schemes. Under his leadership, Platform has undertaken significant development initiatives, including securing the group’s largest land-led deal to date, acquiring a site in Gloucestershire that will deliver 272 new homes as a part of the Perrybrook development. Additionally, Michael played a pivotal role in a landmark deal that earned Platform the Property Deal of the Year award at the 2024 East Midlands Property Dinner. The transaction involved the acquisition of land from Boots Properties Limited and the subsequent development of 319 new homes in Nottingham, a project which emphasizes sustainability and energy efficiency. Michael is passionate about collaborative working and finding innovative ways to increase housing supply, unlock development opportunities and create sustainable communities that meet local needs.
