Mitakshi Sirsi

Director of Sustainability, Broadway Malyan

Mitakshi trained as an Architect and a Sustainability Engineer and brings a range of experience from working across three continents in the built-environment sector. Her roles have ranged from those in energy modelling to policy, environmental design, assessment, and corporate real estate, all within the context of creating sustainable built environments. She currently runs the responsible business charge across global studios at Broadway Malyan, a reputed international architecture & urbanism firm, primarily focused on bringing together and refocusing approaches to sustainable design within the varied contexts of the firm’s projects, and helping clients design sustainable design frameworks, strategies and policies. Mitakshi also chairs the sustainability committee at CoreNet UK.
As a millennial and parent of a little toddler, she proudly brings her activist-self to work and believes doing this is a very important step towards creating a world that is better than the one her generation have inherited.

Statement:

A sustainable world requires fair and equitable actions. Giving women agency and a seat at the table are vital steps to make this happen, especially in the built-environment sector where these gender disparities are large. I believe doing this will have a positive impact on our world and our future, creating more inclusive and fair places for all.
