Nelson Godinho is the Head of Fire Engineering at SE Controls, where he plays a central role in developing smoke ventilation system solutions across multiple construction sectors.

A Chartered Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the ventilation industry, Nelson is a leading specialist in smoke control ventilation for both residential and commercial applications. He is dedicated to raising industry standards through his active involvement in the Smoke Control Association and BSI, where he convenes and participates in working groups developing performance-based design standards and best-practice guidance.

Nelson has contributed to several key industry publications, including the recently published BS 9991, the SCA CFD and Residential Guide, and is convenor of the forthcoming BS 7346 standard for smoke control design in residential buildings.
