Neville Tomblin

I am the Fire Safety Lead for Southampton City Council, I have been with the Council for 11 years and have been involved in fire safety with the Council for the last 6 years. Following on from a fire in one of the Councils high-rise blocks and prior to Grenfell, I was responsible for developing a strategy for bringing all high-rise blocks up to compliance under the legislation, including installing sprinklers to all in-scope blocks as well as replacing all fire doors and undertaking any necessary compartmentation. I am proud of what has been achieved around fire safety at Southampton, not just in HRHRBs but also in medium and low rise blocks and supported housing blocks in making our residents safer in their homes.
