Nicola Markall FCIOB is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building. She graduated in Civil Engineering and Construction Management in 2004 and began her career with a civil engineering consultancy in Birmingham before moving into project-based construction management roles at Carillion, where she progressed to a regional leadership position.

In 2020, Nicola joined Sir Robert McAlpine as Director of Technical Compliance, where she was instrumental in ensuring the organisation not only complied with the Building Safety Act 2022 but also embedded its principles across all aspects of project delivery. She led this work with full accountability, driving cultural and operational change.

After successfully developing and implementing Sir Robert McAlpine’s competency framework, Nicola transitioned into the role of Workforce Planning Director, where she continues to build and shape teams around the skills and competencies required to deliver complex projects successfully.
