Assistant Lecturer and Researcher in Digital Built Environment, Birmingham City University
Nicoleta Bocaneala is an assistant lecturer in the digital built environment at the School of Engineering and the Built Environment. She teaches undergraduate courses across the school, especially Architectural Technology and Building Surveying. Her research interests are in cutting edge technologies and the use of digital tools in the AEC, with a focus on building performance and sustainability. In May 2022, she has started her part time PhD focusing on “The use of digital twins for retrofit projects to improve building performance”. Nicoleta is also the Chair for the CIAT West Midlands aspirATion Group, a community within CIAT providing the opportunity for young professionals to develop and grow on a personal and professional level, whilst inspiring the next generation of Architectural Technology professionals.
