Olivia Hough is a Sustainability Lead and Associate within AtkinsRéalis' Buildings & Places Engineering & Design practice, where she leads multidisciplinary teams in the development and delivery of ambitious sustainability strategies across the built environment. With more than 20 years of experience spanning architecture, sustainability consultancy, and sustainable development, Olivia brings a holistic perspective to creating places that are environmentally responsible, socially inclusive, and resilient for future generations.
Throughout her career, she has worked across the education, residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, helping clients turn sustainability ambitions into practical, measurable outcomes. Her expertise includes net zero carbon, circular economy, sustainable materials, climate resilience, health and wellbeing, and social value. Olivia has also played a key role in advancing sustainability practice within AtkinsRéalis, including contributing to the development of Azolla, the company's sustainability framework and assessment tool.
Olivia is passionate about ensuring the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable future delivers meaningful benefits for people as well as the planet. She advocates for inclusive approaches that place communities at the centre of decision-making, recognising that truly sustainable construction must be equitable, accessible, and responsive to diverse needs.
