Peter Ungar

Managing Director, Ungar Architects

Peter Ungar trained at the Architectural Association and Cambridge University. After graduation he worked for Michael Hopkins and Partners on Glyndebourne Opera House and later at Jamie Fobert Architects on a range of schemes including, the extension of the Tate St. Ives, Kettles Yard Gallery, Cambridge and a 15,000 sq ft residence overlooking Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The practice was founded in 2006 with a commission for a small house in Los Angeles and since then has completed a range of mainly residential projects in North London, chiefly in Hampstead Garden Suburb, Hampstead and Belsize Park.

Due to the tight planning restrictions and heritage protection afforded to many properties in these areas, work has been carried out creatively and discreetly; underground, in gardens or on rooftops.
