Rachel is Head of Procurement – Nuclear at Sir Robert McAlpine, where she leads on procurement strategy and supply chain relationships for the Key Delivery Partner Framework on the Sellafield site. With nearly 25 years in the construction industry, she’s worked on some of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects—including the Mersey Gateway Bridge, HS2, and National Highways Regional Delivery Partner schemes.
Rachel is passionate about supporting SMEs and helping them thrive within major construction programmes. She’s a driving force behind SRM’s efforts to upskill supply chain partners, and works closely with the Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC) and the National Cyber Security Centre to improve cyber awareness across the sector. Alongside SRM’s CISO, Andy Black, she’s helped deliver workshops, webinars and campaigns that make cyber security more accessible —both at work and at home.
Her commitment to resilience goes beyond the workplace. Rachel volunteers with her local Town Council and Development Team, where she’s creating a blueprint—backed by the CRC—that can be rolled out to other communities to help build local cyber awareness. She also mentors SMEs on everything from building a social media presence and achieving industry certifications, to working confidently with Tier One contractors on public sector projects.
Rachel’s career spans international joint ventures, collaborative frameworks and a genuine passion for making construction more inclusive, secure and future-ready. At London Build 2025, she’ll be sharing her insights on procurement, partnership and the power of community-led resilience.
