I have been working in mainly customer service roles in logistics style businesses for most of my career. After a short stint covering maternity leave I quickly picked up a lot of technical knowledge at ARC Building Solutions and was given a full time contract. After just a year I was promoted to Team Leader and after 4 years I was made Product Analyst. I achieved this due to my ability to gain a deep understanding of our products and convey that in an easy to understand way to our customers, end users etc. As product analyst, I plan, install, and report back on fire tests for all our products as well as coming up with new ideas on testing and products to manufacture. Another large part of my role is heading up Technical Support for the business along with helping drive product and technical training across all departments. I have recently sat my IFE Level 3 in Passive Fire Protection Exam and I am always looking for new things to learn and get involved with. I love being a woman in construction as sometimes it feels like you are proving people wrong! There have been numerous times when I have answered the phone as Technical Support and a man on the other end has been surprised that I have been able to help him. With one person once even suggesting that it was above my pay grade but then I answered every question he had!!
