Rebecca Rickwood is the Chief Executive of Gement and one of the founding directors of The Association of Alkali Activated Cementitious Materials (A3CM). Rebecca gained a 1st class honours degree in chemistry from Queen Mary University of London, where her research focused on geopolymer cement. She later gained funding and was able to deliver her work on a larger scale. As part of her work at A3CM, Rebecca sits on the B/517/1 British Standards Institution (BSI) committee which aims to produce a set of standards to introduce AACM's (alkali-activated cementitious materials) into the concrete market.
Passionate about giving back to the industry Rebecca is leading the way forward for women to get involved in construction and is a champion of females in the industry. Rebecca has spoken at many conferences including UK Construction Week and Digital Construction Week, as well as been nominated for a range of awards including UKCW Role Model, Santander Entrepreneur and Female CEO 2022.
